The right to have your emotional support animal ESA fly with you is guaranteed by the Air Carrier Access Act ACAA.

11 2021 Delta will no longer accept emotional support animal ESAN bookings on any Delta flight. Anxiety and stress kick in and it becomes tough to fight it thousands of feet up in the air. Effective January 11 emotional support animals will no longer be accepted on any Delta Air Lines flight.
In the years prior to this rule change all airlines were required by law to accommodate owners of ESAs with proper documentation from a licensed mental health. The ESA should be present on the handlers lap or the floor beside the passengers seat. There is no one size of pet carrier allowed on a Delta flight however there are pet carrier size restrictions.
Delta will honor existing bookings that include emotional support animals as long as the reservation was made and the required ESA documentation was submitted before January 11 2021.
